HISTORY

Centrals Cricket Club was originally formed in 1973, a name change from the old Methodist Club which had formed in 1946. The Methodist Church objected to Sunday play, and it was deemed necessary to have a name change.

After lacking the junior players to ensure a good flow-on to the senior ranks, Central's merged with the Bowen Junior Cricket Club for the 1990/91 season, becoming Bowen Centrals Cricket Club. In the late 2000s, the club reverted back to the Centrals name.

Centrals has produced one international cricketer in Ireland's David Langford -Smith who was a Bowen junior before making his first grade debut for the merged club in 1991/92. The club in its Methodist life also produced a long-standing NSW Sheffield Shield cricketer in Stuart Webster.

Centrals Cricket Club has won multiple premierships across all grades.
