Womens T20 Wrap 2025-26

Centrals Cricket Club fielded its first ever women's hardball team during the 2025/26 season. Played on Sundays throughout the 25/26 season the main goal for this year was to build experience amongst our players.

Nerves were high for the first game with many players getting their first taste of hard ball cricket. Facing a very strong Orange City team the goal for batting was to bat through the 20 overs and this was achieved with 3 batters finishing the innings not out (players are required to retire after facing 25 balls).

The second game was an absolute nailbiter coming down to the final over. The batting from Centrals was amazing with only 2 wickets falling and 3 batters retiring not out. Unfortunately it wasn't quite enough with Cyms passing our total with 3 balls remaining.

Coming back after the Christmas and New Year break our ladies were able to show how much they have improved. Centrals put on a strong showing taking 5 wickets and posting 128 runs. This strong performance meant that the winner of the final game booked their place in the Grand Final.

Heading into the final game coach Neil set the goal of improving the bowling accuracy and reducing the number of extras. This goal was achieved with flying colours with the team bowling Cyms out for 82. Unfortunately it wasn't quite enough to get the win on the day.

Centrals are very proud of all the ladies that played T20 throughout the season and we are sure they will be back bigger and better next season. The amount of determination and growth shown by all players throughout the season was exceptional.
